Ricardo Montaner on his artistic rebirth

Ricardo Montaner shared his journey of reclaiming his music, his emotional healing, and his upcoming tour in Buenos Aires.

Ricardo Montaner on his artistic rebirth

Ricardo Montaner recounted that after processing his anguish, he used his talent to reconnect with his audience and with himself. This rebirth also has a symbolic side: he not only recovered his catalog but also his artistic identity by re-recording his first songs, the ones that marked and defined him. Ricardo Montaner will perform at the Movistar Arena on February 21 and 22 as part of his “El último regreso” tour. He revealed that he re-recorded his first six albums, a decision that not only reconnected him with his roots but also with his lost catalog. Perhaps one of the most revealing parts of the conversation was when Montaner spoke of his old frustration over not having control of his original recordings: he assured that he had “lost the masters” of his early works. With this new recording, he not only recovered his music artistically but also emotionally: he said the process was “like recovering something of mine that belonged to me”. Beyond the personal, the break allowed Montaner to rethink his relationship with music. He pointed to his partner, Marlene, as a fundamental pillar: she was the one who supported him as he went through that emotional low. Additionally, the singer acknowledged that part of his healing came from returning to what he loves most: recording. There, he confessed that after announcing an “indefinite pause” at the end of 2023, he suffered a very strong withdrawal syndrome during the first year without music. Far from being a comfortable retreat, that decision affected him emotionally. “It hit me very hard,” he said, his voice breaking, as he described how much he missed the shows, his audience, and the adrenaline of the stage. For Montaner, his family was essential during this transitional period. Buenos Aires, November 17 (NA) – Ricardo Montaner became emotional during “La Divina Noche” with Dante Gebel, in an emotive and deep interview that showed the most human side of the iconic singer-songwriter. According to the Argentine News Agency, Montaner traveled specially to Los Angeles to sit down with Gebel and talk about intimate topics.
